In 2026, an official Player of the Game will be named for every regular-season and postseason game.
Voting for each game will run from the end of the 6th inning until 10 minutes after the final out, and fans can change their vote at any time while voting is active.

What criteria should I use to vote?
Voting is up to the discretion of each voter. Whether based on preference for specific stats or a player having a key moment in the game, voters can use their own methods for voting. For more information on individual stats, visit the MLB Glossary.
Where can I find the final vote?
MLB.com/potg features all Player of the Game results. You can also see the results in the MLB app's Gameday wrap section. All results will be displayed until 10 a.m. ET the following day, at which point the current day’s games will be displayed.

Can I vote on a game that’s suspended after the 6th inning?
If the game is suspended while voting is live, the voting will be paused and made available again whenever the game resumes. If the game moves from suspended to complete, the player with the most votes at the point the game was suspended will be deemed the winner. If a game is suspended early in the season and played on a later date, the game will be displayed on the voting landing page the day the game is resumed.
What happens if a postponed game is considered complete before voting is open?
If a game is considered complete before the final out of the 6th inning, there will be no vote for that contest.
